2022 Fall Gala Registration and Information

Empowering communities and building a better world.
Supporting innovation and sustainability.
“Improving the lives of the 5 billion people who’s main concern is to stay alive by the end of each day on our planet is no longer an option for engineers, it is a obligation.” -Dr. Bernard Amadei, EWB-USA Founder.
This is the sentiment that guides our mission to incorporate classroom learning into sustainable solutions for our partner communities and to equip the next generation of humanitarian engineers.
International Partnerships
Our student members currently work with international communities in Uganda and Rwanda, on projects involving access to water and sanitation. In Kabingo, Uganda, we have designed and implemented a solar-powered water treatment and distribution system and are currently pursuing projects related to COVID-19. In Munini, Rwanda, we are working with the community and local school on a water accessibility project and improved sanitation conditions.
Local Partnerships
Here, in our own Oxford community, our members work with the Miami University Institute for Food Farm and are now pursuing a bridge project with the Cincinnati World Wildlife Foundation. Our chapter members also participate in local community service events, Habitat for Humanity builds, and STEM outreach to the local elementary and middle schools.
Education and Professional Development
Education happens within the context of a larger community. We have the incredible opportunity to partner with the Greater Cincinnati Professionals Chapter, and work closely with professional and academic mentors to ensure the quality and sustainability of our projects. These mentors also guide our members through learning new professional skills, such as creating AutoCAD drawings and pump curves as well as interpersonal skills, such as project management and communication.
